The Principal's Holiday Task for Pupils
P4 to P6 English and Chinese Newspaper Cutting Holiday Homework
Hi kids! Here are the details to your holiday assignment given by Mr Chong.
To encourage you to read more newspapers, you need to do 3 newspaper cuttings per week for the entire holidays. So, you will have to submit a minimum of 6 English Language newspaper articles and 6 Chinese Language newspaper articles at the end of the holidays.
For the English Language newspaper articles, choose six different articles on different types of news. For example, Robbery/Sports/Weather/Accidents/Forum/Environment. Simply look for at least 1 article on each themes and cut out the article (or print if it is an online newspaper article) and attach the article on foolscap or plain white paper. Record the date of the article and then do either a summary/reflection of the learning point of the story. Write at least ten sentences for your summary or reflection. Do ask the 5Ws and 1H - Who, What, When, Where, Why and How.
When we come back from the holidays, we will collate the articles on the various themes with a fastener and these become very useful reading resources especially for your stories/compositions. You can learn useful vocabulary from these articles.
